Age and Condition of the Lock

Security Grade
Commercial locks come in three ANSI/BHMA grades. Grade 1 is the highest security and most durable. If your current lock is Grade 2 or 3, a repair might be an opportunity to upgrade to Grade 1 for significantly better protection.
Type of Damage
Surface issues like a sticky latch or misaligned strike plate are straightforward repairs. Internal damage to the lock cylinder, a broken tailpiece, or a compromised keyway may warrant full replacement to ensure reliable long-term security.
Future Security Plans
